Singing
Performing with the 59 West acapella group at Latin.
When I was 9 months old, I took a “Wiggleworms'' music class at the Old Town School of Music. That’s when my passion for music started. Growing up, I was a part of the Chicago Children's Choir for 7 years. In first grade, I sang in the talent show and every year since, I have participated as well. I sing when I study, when I drive, and when I do just about anything. When I think about words, there’s always a melody. That’s the beauty of music to me: that you can find it everywhere. Below is one of my earliest performances, “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift.

Since the start of high school, I have been singing with Romanettes, a higher voices acapella group. I also sing for 59 West, a smaller, more selective and collaborative voice inclusive acapella group. Because COVID-19 has paused in person practices for acapella groups, I have started taking guitar lessons. And, of course, I am always singing at home.
At Latin, there is a Latinx talent show to share our traditions and talents as well as a talent show to raise funds for the Rwanda trip in the summer that I love to perform in!
I take every opportunity to sing. It makes me happy and it has helped me to be brave and confident.
